Week of Volunteering

During one week per year, inhabitants of Banska Bystrica region have a chance to participate in various volunteering activities: people can visit the days of open doors organized in some of the organizations, participate in discussions on volunteering, but primarily, they can get involved into various volunteering activities prepared by more than 60 organizations throughout the region. Volunteering activities are prepared by NGOs, municipal organizations, kindergartens, elementary schools but also informal groups of citizens. The individuals are helping to clean public spaces, clean interiors of organizations and social care centres; they paint, collect trash, organize sport activities for people with disabilities, accompany seniors for walks or play games with them but also help with administrative task or community activities.
